The US Conference of Mayors--their 78th Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City--to be held from June 11-15 is expected to be one of the most important events in the city with various pressing issues set to be discussed. The event will feature mayors from around the country, who will discuss immigration, energy efficiency, creation of jobs, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the increase in abandoned properties in urban areas, education reform, the economy and other pressing issues. This organization of cities representing a population exceeding 30,000 will finally also vote on policy resolutions that will be forwarded to the Administration and Congress.
